Press Release 2007

Todd Norton, president and chief operating officer of Sabinsa Corporation will participate in a panel discussion entitled "Creating an Intellectual Property Platform," on Thursday, March 8 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Anaheim Marriott Hotel's Northeast Marquis Ballroom as part of the Nutracon Conference. Other panel members include: Roger Wyse, managing partner, Burrill & Company; Marina Volin, a registered patent attorney with Caesar, Rivise, Bernstein, Cohen and Pokotilow, Ltd.; and Qi Jia, Ph.D., chief science officer, Unigen Pharmaceuticals.

The panel will examine the scope of intellectual property issues globally and provide perspective from both inside and outside the industry. Todd Norton will specifically highlight the value of intellectual property including branding opportunities and return on investment, as well as discuss the realities of promoting and protecting intellectual property in the natural products industry.

"Investing in intellectual property is an expensive and time consuming proposition, and individuals need to understand how to maximize and protect that investment," noted Norton. "We hope that individuals attending this presentation will walk away with a better understanding of the various aspects of intellectual property, as well as have a course of action to follow if they decide to develop their own intellectual property."

Nutracon's focus on science and innovation offers product developers, regulatory affairs experts, R&D scientists, formulators and brand managers insights for innovation and product development based on sound science, technology, case studies and the latest marketing intelligence. Nutracon is co-located with Natural Products Expo West and SupplyExpo. For more information, visit www.nutraconference.com
