founded in 1988 by Muhammed
Majeed, Ph.D., is a company committed
and dedicated to the principles of tradition, innovation and
research. Founded on the modern application of standardized
phytonutrient ingredients, Sabinsa has also established itself
as a manufacturer and supplier of high-quality fine chemicals
and organic intermediates.
Sabinsa's efforts have
earned the company much deserved recognition that accompanies
its growing sales. In October 1995, Dr. Majeed received a
National Award for Quality Products (Basic Drugs) from the
President of India. For the past two years the company has
been placed in the top ten among New Jersey's top 50 fastest
growing technology-based companies (NJ Technology Fast 50
Awards).
Fine Chemicals:
Many of Sabinsa's natural and synthetic products are used
in their pure form in both the pharmaceutical and nutritional
industries (for example, Camptothecin and L-(+)Selenomethionine).
Process development and product innovation form the focus
of the ongoing R&D efforts in the company's research facilities,
located in the U.S. and in India. Sabinsa has more than thirty
scientists working full time to support these efforts. Laboratory
and pilot scale production is performed at Sabinsa's research
facility near Princeton, NJ. Commercial scale production is
carried out at five company-owned facilities in Southern India
which handle product volumes ranging from a few hundred kilograms
to several hundred tons. |
