Dr.Vladimir Badmaev, MD (Class 1975 Medical Academy Bialystok (AMB), Poland) has been trained in clinical and anatomical pathology at Kings County Hospital and Downstate Medical Center, New York (1982-1985). His PhD degree (AMB, 1978) is in the filed of immunopharmacology; title of the doctoral thesis: “The effect of Listeria monocytogenes lipids on immune response to T-dependent and T-independent antigens”. He is the author and coauthor of over 70 scientific and popular scientific articles, thirteen books, fifteen US patents and six successful IND applications with the FDA. |
Dr. Badmaev published a book on Tibetan medicine titled “Healing Herbs” describing efforts of five generations of physicians in his family in bringing Tibetan medicine and the derived pharmaceutical products to the West. In 1999 he contributed a chapter on Tibetan medicine in Wayne Jonas’s and Jeffrey Levine’s textbook for medical students and health professionals titled “Essentials of Alternative and Complementary Medicine” – published by Williams&Wilkins and Lippincott. Dr. Badmaev participated in the following Medical/Scientific Societies: International Society of Immunopharmacology (1982), American Association of Clinical Pathologists (1983), American Medical Association (1984), Research and Development Council of New Jersey (1996).
The lifelong goal of Dr. Badmaev is to establish Indo-Tibetan medicine as a permanent element in the health care education and health care system in the West. In 1985 he established Badmaev Natural Drug Foundation, where he serves as President. Dr. Badmaev serves on board of directors and as a VP of New Jersey based company Sabinsa, which has been dedicated to bring to the West standardized nutraceuticals derived from Indo-Tibetan materia medica.

Lakshmi Prakash Ph.D.

Dr. Lakshmi Prakash received a BSc (Honors) degree in Chemistry, and BSc(Tech) and MSc(Tech) degrees in Food Technology from the University of Mumbai, India. Her PhD degree is in Food Science from Rutgers University, New Jersey. Dr. Prakash has over 25 years of combined research and management experience, and is also a registered Patent Agent. Prior to joining Sabinsa Corporation Dr. Prakash worked as Head of the Department of Food Technology at SNDT University, Mumbai, and Project Manager at the Center for Advanced Food Technology, Rutgers University, wherein she was actively involved in facilitating research collaborations between corporations and academia. |
At Sabinsa, Dr. Prakash’s responsibilities include identifying and developing innovative health applications, delivery systems, and intellectual property pertaining to natural actives and nutritional raw materials. She also provides scientific support to marketing, edits the monthly newsletter, and popularizes the company’s products through articles written in peer reviewed journals and trade publications.

Dr. N. Kalyanam is the President of Sabinsa's New Jersey R&D. His research interests are synthetic methodology and chiral chemistry. He obtained his M.Sc. in Chemistry at the University of Madras and Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Baylor University (Texas). Upon completing his Ph.D., Dr. Kalyanam completed 2 years of postdoctoral studies focusing on organic synthesis procedures before returning to India. In India he worked for a number of reputable companies, IPCL, Ciba Geigy, and SPIC Pharma, to which he made major scientific contributions. |

Kalyanam's primary responsibilities at Sabinsa
include the development of efficient and novel
scientific routes for xenobiotics and intermediates
as well as the exploration of new business areas.
