Sabinsa Corporation today confirmed that company president Todd Norton will
formally participate in the 2007 NBJ/Newport Summit, to be held July 18-20 in Dana Point, Calif.
Mr. Norton will serve as a guest panelist for the discussion, "Case Studies in Capturing Healthcare Dollars and
Healthcare Prevention" on Thursday, July 19. Specifically, he will highlight the value of creating intellectual property
including branding opportunities and return on investments, as well as discuss the challenges associated with promoting
and protecting intellectual property in the global marketplace.
"If as an industry we want to continue to encourage companies to invest significant time and resources into
developing intellectual property, then we need to come together and support them in the protection of that intellectual
property,"said Norton. "There needs to be an industry commitment to passing on ingredients and products that are clearly
infringing, rather than just leaving up to the individual company who created that intellectual property to protect it."
Sabinsa representatives will also be on hand to accept their Nutrition Business Journal Business Achievement
Awards announced earlier this year. NBJ recognized the company with a merit award for their branded ingredient
GarliSelect® and a scientific achievement award for Curcumin C3 Complex®.
Marking its tenth year, the 2007 NBJ/Newport Summit brings together leaders and innovators from the natural
products industry to discuss challenges, share experiences and develop more effective strategies to respond to consumer
needs.
