PISCATAWAY, NJ -
Sabinsa Corporation has recently completed development of
a comprehensive rosemary extract standardized for a minimum
6.0% camosic acid, 1.0% rosmarinic acid and 0.5% ursolic
acid. These compounds are responsible for the potent antioxidant
activity of rosemary leaves.
Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary leaf) has
applications as an antioxidant both internally and externally.
In addition to antioxidant properties, laboratory studies
have established the inhibitory effects of rosemary extract
on tumor generation and mutagenesis. The antimicrobial effects
of rosemary have also been studied.
