Corporation announces development of a new Chemopreventitive
compound specialized nutraceuticals: Indole-3-Carbinol.
Indole-3-Carbinol is a compound occurring naturally
in cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli and
brussels sprouts. It has been shown in pre-clinical experiments
to be a promising anti-cancer nutrient, possibly linked
to the well-documented evidence that eating such vegetables
prevents various forms of cancer.
A considerable body of pre-clinical evidence
points to the efficacy of Indole-3-Carbinol in the prevention
and intervention of direct and indirect acting carcinogens
in the development of breast tumors in rodents. Evidence
also point to Indole-3-Carbinol being used successfully
in experiments involving gastrointestinal lung cancers.
Additionally, Indole-3-Carbinol shows potential
in cardiovascular health, since it lowered total cholesterol,
LDL and VDL, in hypercholesterolemic rodents by inhibition
the cholesterol converting enzyme acyl-CoA.
