Morinda
citrifolia, known as Noni, is an evergreen shrub
which originates from Asia, Australia, and the
Pacific Islands. Although this fruit has a very
unpleasant odor and flavor, it is referred to
by many people as the "Hawaiian Miracle Medicine".
It is used to treat a number of ailments including
diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart trouble1.
In a study conducted on mice injected with lung
carcinoma cells (cancer cells), it was observed
that mice given Morinda citrifolia lived significantly
longer than mice who had no morinda treatments.
Researchers found that Morinda increases immunity
and has an antibacterial activity2.
