| ForsLean™
is a standardized plant extract containing
forskolin, a diterpene compound found in
nature, and only in the roots of the Coleus
forskohlii plant; a member of the mint family
of plants. Coleus has been traditionally
used for centuries as a pickle or food spice
in East Indian diets. In the early 1970’s,
researchers began studying forskolin in
various health promoting applications. However,
the understanding of forskolin’s impact
on weight management, by enhancing lean
body mass, has only been recently discovered,
researched and patented. The result is ForsLean. |

| The
Importance of Lean Body Mass
|
| |
Lean body mass consists
of muscles, vital organs and connective tissue,
bone, bone marrow and most of our life essential
body water. Although the impact of lean body mass
on health has yet to be fully understood, it plays
a significant role in the relationship between
a person’s body weight composition and their
overall health status. Stated more simply, if
the ratio of lean body mass to body fat becomes
too greatly imbalanced towards the latter, the
typical result is that the overall fitness and
health of an individual is negatively affected.
With societal pressures constantly
reminding us of the need to trim our waistline
many weight loss regimens are currently in use,
which may in actuality limit the beneficial outcome
of the weight loss therapy. Keep in mind that
it is not only fat, but also lean body mass that
can be lost through dieting.
This fact often escapes our attention
when the focus is simply to reduce total body
weight. Without a sufficient lean body mass ratio
the body is less able to adequately deliver the
necessary nutrients essential for proper bodily
functioning.
Too many dieters are losing a significant
amount of lean body mass and the accompanying
health effects. What should become the real goal
in any weight management program is to maintain
or increase lean body mass, not sacrifice it,
when trying to shed those extra pounds. |

the Body Help Itself |

Forskolin is known from literature
as a compound with versatile biological actions
based on its ability to activate an enzyme known
as adenylate cyclase, which leads to an increase
in cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). Typically,
an increase in cAMP leads to activation of other
enzymes, among which is lipase. Lipase disposes
of triglycerides, known as building blocks of
fatty tissue, which has a positive impact on body
composition, increasing lean body mass while trimming
the waistline.
As more knowledge becomes available
on ways to improve overall health, it is clear
that we need to change our thinking and broaden
our approach to weight management regimens. The
Center for Disease Control recommends a sensible,
moderately intensive exercise program for at least
30 minutes a day, several days a week, as a way
to improve health by maintaining lean body mass.
Including ForsLean as part of your
exercise and dietary program may further enhance
the health benefits that come from increasing
lean body mass.
