VISVESVARAYA TRADE PROMOTION CENTRE (VTPC) is a mandated nodal agency for promotion of Trade from the State of Karnataka. registered under the Karnataka Societies Act. It is supervised and regulated by an autonomous body constituted by the Government of Karnataka. VTPC has been operational since 1965 under the aegis of Department of Industries & Commerce. VTPC is named after Chief architect of modern Karnataka, Bharat Ratna Late Sir M.Visvesvaraya, who was instrumental in the industrialization of the state. As a part of Export promotion, the VTPC organizes State Export Awards, every year.

Sabinsa's manufacturing and R&D arm in India, Sami Labs, Ltd., was named "Best Innovation and Technology Company" at the Food 360° Conference organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

Sabinsa Corp. received the 2009 Herbal Industry Leader award from the American Herbal Products Association as a company that sets an example of outstanding business practices that work to move the industry forward above and beyond normal business practices.
Mr. Shaheen Majeed, Marketing Director of Sabinsa, was also elected to the AHPA board of directors.
Sami Labs, Ltd. was awarded with the Certificate of Excellence for Exports from the Federation of Indian Export Organisations. The award was given by the Union Minister of Textiles, Mr. Shankar Singh Vaghela, in the presence of Smt. Pratibha Patil, President of India, December 16th, 2008.

The award is in acknowledgment of Sabinsa’s strategically balanced green product offering, proactive and sustainable marketing practices, and the continuous ability to satisfy client needs in an increasingly diverse and green-conscious market space.

Sabinsa Corp., a subsidiary of Sami Labs, Ltd., has been awarded the second Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award for 2005 in the Enabling Technology/Small Company category for US Patent 6,849,645 concerning the invention entitled "Method of Increased Bioavailability of Nutrients and Pharmaceutical Preparations with Tetrahydropiperine and its Analogues and Derivatives".
The Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award recognizes the most revolutionary product innovations and important scientific breakthroughs originating in New Jersey.

Sabinsa Corp. received the Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award for the year 2004. The award was presented at the Council's Annual Awards Dinner on November 11, 2004, at the Liberty Science Center, New Jersey. Sabinsa's U.S. patent (No. 5,804,596) for ForsLean® was awarded this honor in the Consumer/Small Company category.
This is the second award for ForsLean® in the innovation arena. The product earlier won the Best New Product award in 2001 at Nutracon.

Dr. Majeed receives Global Innovation & Excellence from Mr. K.V. Thomas Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament at the second NIB award, organised jointly by the Ernakulam Press Club and the Public Relation Council of India (PRCI) in Kerala on 20th Feb 2016.
Dr. Muhammed Majeed, Founder & Chairman Sami-Sabinsa group was honored by Chief Minister of Kerala Shri Ommen Chandy at the Trivandrum Medical College Grand Alumni Convention held on 19th February 2016.
Dr. Majeed received the Daniel B. Stateman award for distinguished alumni from Dr. David Taft at Long Island University’s 121st graduation ceremony in Brooklyn, New York on May 14, 2010.

Dr. Muhammed Majeed, Chairman and Managing Director of SAMI LABS LTD, was chosen by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO) to receive its prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
The Ellis Island Medal of Honor, which is sanctioned by the U.S. Congress, symbolize the spirit of America in their celebration of patriotism, tolerance, brotherhood and diversity. NECO recognize individuals who have made it their mission to share with those less fortunate their wealth of knowledge, indomitable courage, boundless compassion, unique talents and selfless generosity; all while maintaining the traditions of their ethnic heritage as they uphold the ideals and spirit of America. Dr. Majeed was presented with the medal at a gala event held on May 15th, 2004, on Ellis Island, New York.
"I am very proud to receive this honor and be recognized for the work I do here in the United States and in India." said Dr. Majeed. "I believe strongly in NECO's mission to preserve and celebrate ethnic diversity, and to promote advancement and tolerance among all ethnic groups".
Previous recipients of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor include: former presidents Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, George Bush and Bill Clinton, Nobel Prize winner Elie Wiesel, Bob Hope, Rudy Giuliani and Muhammad Ali.
Dr. Muhammed Majeed honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Kerala Association of New Jersey.
