ASHWAGANDHA, referred as Indian Ginseng (Botanical name Withania somnifera has been used to treat a large variety of physical maladies. The roots and eaves of the plant have been traditionally used in the form of powder, decoction, oil or poultice Ancient texts of Ayurveda have mentioned its use as a tonic, vitalizer, diuretic. anodyne, bactericide, fungicide and amoebicide. Moreover, in India, Ashwagandha has been used as a powerful aphrodisiac. After its long usage in India, Ashwagandha was recently introduced in the West, where it received a very positive response from the scientific community.

Clinical studies conducted in various universities and research institutes have demonstrated that the usage of Ashwagandha increases the resistance to stress, either of a physical or chemical nature and has the ability to enhance physical endurance.
